Effects company denies leaking 'Wolverine' online (AP)
LOS ANGELES - An Australian visual effects company that worked on " X-Men Origins: Wolverine " said Thursday it was not responsible for leaking a full-length work print online.The company's name — Rising Sun Pictures — appears in a caption dated March 2 a few minutes into the high-quality leaked copy of the 20th Century Fox superhero movie .
"As we worked on individual sequences within the film, neither Rising Sun Pictures or its staff members have ever been in possession of a full-length version, so it would have been impossible for the movie to have been leaked from here," Rising Sun Pictures chairman and co-founder Tony Clark said in a statement posted on the company's Web site Thursday.
The "prequel, which focuses on the beginnings of Hugh Jackman 's clawed Marvel superhero Wolverine , is not scheduled for release until May 1, but the leaked version began appearing online Tuesday evening. Fox said in a statement Wednesday that it had the original file removed, but copies quickly propagated and continue to appear on several file-sharing Web sites.
According to Rising Sun Pictures' Web site, the visual effects company had been tasked with producing "a number of key effects sequences" in "Wolverine." Rising Sun Pictures is also working on the upcoming " Terminator Salvation " film and had previously created effects for " Watchmen ," "Australia," " Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince " and " Get Smart ."
Fox vowed Wednesday that the source of the "stolen, incomplete and early version" of the movie would be prosecuted and said the FBI and MPAA are investigating the leak. The studio also insisted that the version of "Wolverine" posted online had been forensically marked and "was without many effects, had missing and unedited scenes and temporary sound and music."

NEW YORK, April 2 (UPI) -- An investigation is under way into how the unfinished movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" was leaked online, the movie's distributor says.The FBI and the Motion Picture Association of America are investigating the leak, which led to thousands of people seeing a version of the Hugh Jackman flick on the Internet Tuesday, a month before it is to hit theaters, The New York Times reported.
The Times quoted 20th Century Fox, the movie's distributor, as saying it doesn't know how the leak occurred. The version that appeared online didn't have its final special effects, sound or music, the newspaper said.
Eric Garland, the chief executive of the file-sharing monitoring company BigChampagne, described this week's mass downloading of a working copy of "Wolverine" as a "one-of-a-kind case."
"We've never seen a high-profile film -- a film of this budget, a tent-pole movie with this box office potential -- leak in any form this early," Garland told the Times.
"The source of the initial leak and any subsequent postings will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," Fox said, adding "the courts have handed down significant criminal sentences for such acts in the past."

Excitement around "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," the sequel to the enormously successful 2007 movie, has been building steadily since we got our first glimpse of the action in the ad that played during the Super Bowl. Two weeks later the trailer was released, and it looked like director Michael Bay wasn't lying when he promised bigger and badder robots than in the first flick.
Now, to get the fans even more energized, Paramount Pictures has released to us the full list of all the giant robots that will appear in the new movie. Plus we have new photos with first looks at two of the evil Decepticons that will battle the heroic Autobots when the movie hits theaters this summer.

We'll see if and how he returns when "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" opens on June 24th.

In this trailer released by WB, Dumbledore narrates the story of Tom Riddle. We see glimpses of the inferi, more orphanage footage, the gates of Hogwarts as Harry and Luna travel up to them, Harry under his invisibility cloak on the train, Dumbledore grabbing a chain from the cave, a close shot of Narcissa, Draco working on the wardrobe, explosions in Diagon Alley and fire at the Burrow, Harry battling off the Inferi, Fenrir Greyback, Harry shouting at Snape, the bridge collapsing, and another "Once again, I must ask too much of you, Harry."

You know the claws. You know the rage. And you know the sideburns. But there is a lot about Marvel Comics' mutant superhero Wolverine that you might not know. So here are ten facts you should know before you see "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," the upcoming prequel that sheds light on his mysterious past. And to see Hugh Jackman back in action, you can skip down to watch three exclusive TV spots from the movie.
1. Wolverine wasn't in the original line-up of Marvel Comics' "X-Men" that was created by Stan Lee in the 1960s. He first appeared as an adversary to The Incredible Hulk, and was brought into the X-Men when the series was restarted in 1975.
2. Co-creator Len Wein's original idea was that the character was actually a wolverine cub that was mutated into human form. He also intended for Wolverine's signature claws to extend from his gloves, not from his body. But these ideas were dropped when new writer Chris Claremont took over the series.
3. Wolverine was originally a supporting character, with the focus of the X-Men stories mostly on team leader Cyclops. But he quickly became a fan favorite, and he got his own solo series in the '80s. Last year, Wizard Magazine ranked him at #1 in their "Top 200 Comic Book Characters of All Time" list.
5. Russell Crowe was director Bryan Singer's first choice to play Wolverine in the first "X-Men" movie, but his asking price was too high. Scottish actor Dougray Scott was then cast, but he dropped out when filming went long on "Mission: Impossible 2." Hugh Jackman stepped into the role two weeks into filming, and at 6'2", he stands about a foot taller than how Wolverine is depicted in the comics.
6. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine Around 700 pairs of Wolverine claws were constructed for the original X-Men movie. They were made of metal for close-ups, plastic for longer shots, and rubber for stunts. Each pair were specially fitted for Jackman or the stuntman who wore them. The special effects crew also made a replica of Jackman's arm so that the claws could physically pop out without digital effects.
7. "X-Men: The Last Stand" was the final movie with the original lineup of characters, but more X-movies are in the works. "Wolverine" is intended to launch not only a series of solo movies for Jackman, but also the "Origins" franchise. Currently in the works is "Magneto," exploring the backstory of the villain. Also, "Gossip Girl" creator Josh Schwartz is writing "X-Men: First Class," about the teenage students of Professor X's school.
8. Taylor Kitsch as Gambit "Wolverine" introduces some new mutants that will be played by some fresh faces. One is long-time fan favorite, Gambit, a mutant who can energize objects into explosive weapons. He'll be played by Taylor Kitsch, star of TV's "Friday Night Lights." It's the biggest movie role yet from the Canadian hockey player-turned-actor, who previously appeared in "The Covenant" and "Snakes on a Plane."
9. TDaniel Henney as Agent Zero The new movie will also introduce audiences to Daniel Henney, an American-born actor who has become an enormous star in South Korea. He broke out in the TV drama, "My Name Is Kim Sam-Soon," a show so popular over half the country tuned in for the series finale. In "Wolverine" he plays Agent Zero, a government operative who is part of the Weapon X program that gives Logan his metallic skeleton.
10. Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth Some more familiar names popping up in the new movie include Liev Schreiber, who put on 40 pounds of muscle to play the menacing Sabretooth. Ryan Reynolds appears as Deadpool, a mutant mercenary who may get his own movie in the future. Dominic Monaghan plays Bolt, who manipulates energy, and will.i.am has his acting debut as the teleporting Wraith. One face you know but won't recognize is Kevin Durand, who was the evil soldier Keamy on "Lost" last season. He is unrecognizable under piles of makeup as the immovable villain, The Blob (but you'll see him in flashbacks).

The soundtrack for "Juno" was the first winner at the 51st annual Grammy Awards, taking home a trophy for best compilation soundtrack. Best score soundtrack went to James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer for "The Dark Knight."
The Grammy for best motion picture song went to "Down to Earth" from the Disney/Pixar film "WALL-E." Thomas Newman, who co-wrote the song with singer Peter Gabriel, accepted the award. The song is also nominated for an Oscar.
Another collaboration by Gabriel and Newman from "WALL-E," "Define Dancing," won a Grammy for best instrumental arrangement.
The film music Grammys were the first to be awarded Sunday during the pre-telecast awards at Los Angeles' Staples Center.

In February 5, 2009, Three Official Posters for the movie has been circling in the world wide web. Apparently both versions have emerged of the first 2 posters. In which we see is the text "Coming Soon", while others displayed the text "07/17/09." SnitchSeeker.com has just released the third poster in high resolution. It preview Harry, with Dumbledore's reflection in his spectacles. They used "HP6" text that never did in the previous films.

Dakota Fanning may not be saying much about joining the cast of the Twilight sequel, but yesterday she did confirm she's in talks to play Jane!
As I exclusively reported last week, the 14-year-old child star has been offered the role of the young killer bloodsucker in the movie adaptation of New Moon, the second book in Stephenie Meyer's bestselling teenage vampire series.
"It's definitely possible. I really hope it works out," Fanning told Hitfix.com while promoting her latest flick Push. "It would be a really fantastic experience I'm sure."
Director Chris Weitz is so confident that Fanning is right for the part, he offered it to without even an audition. Filming of the much-anticipated flick begins in March in the U.S. and Italy.
A member of the deadly Volturi, Jane is described in a casting notice as a petite blonde with a "Botticelli angel-like face…[and] crimson irises."
An online petition to cast Fanning as Jane has seen a huge bump in signatures ever since my story broke on Wednesday.
A rep for the studio, Summit Entertainment, reportedly confirmed Fanning is one of the actors being considered for the role.
If it happens, Fanning will join returning stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, among others. New Moon is set to open in November.

They try to find the only woman that ever escaped from "Division". She is their only key to finding out how to escape the agency. They must also use their different talents and band together for a final job enabling them to escape the agency forever.
Variety writes that:[1]
"The film reportedly focuses on a group of American ex-pats in Hong Kong. Since they're also sheltering telekinetic and clairvoyant powers, the government is after them."
Those with these abilities are divided into several categories:
* Movers can manipulate inanimate objects at varying distances. The actual technique is known as kinetic signature control, where the mover is trained to "hear" and identify the specific atomic frequency of any given material, and alter the gravity wave around it, usually producing the nearby air to appear "warped". Advanced movers can work at the molecular level creating protective shields in the air around them.
* Pushers can "push" specific thoughts, memories, and even emotions into their targets. This technique can be used to gain a subject's trust, or to have them perform any action, thinking it was their own agenda.
* Watchers are trained to self-induce visions of the future, very much like a prolonged sense of déjà vu. The technique of following the future, either of a person or object, is called subject tracking. A Watcher's skill is primarily rated by how far they can see into the future.
* Bleeders have the ability to emit high-pitched sonic vibrations that cause ruptures in a target's blood vessels.
* Sniffs are highly developed clairvoyants who can track the location of either people or objects over varying distances. Like psychic bloodhounds, their tracking ability is increased if they have tactile access to an object that has been in direct contact with the subject. Sniffs receive information based on images, not specific addresses, which is why identifiable landmarks help increase their effectiveness.
* Shifters can temporarily shift patterns of light on any object to create illusions to the naked eye. They work mostly on a touch basic, but once the illusion is established, it remains with the object for short periods of time. For example, a Shifter could momentarily touch a one dollar bill, altering its light pattern to appear as a one hundred dollar bill for hours, until the effect expires. The length of the shift is based on experience and ability.
* Wipers are skilled at either temporary or permanent memory erasure, an invaluable asset in espionage. Experience will dictate the accuracy of their wipes, though the danger is always present that they will eliminate a desired memory.
* Shadows are trained to block the vision of other clairvoyants such as Sniffs, making any subject within their target radius appear "dark". Experience will enhance the size of the area they can shadow and the intensity of their shielding effect. Shadows need to be awake to perform their ability, and it is common for a detail of two Shadows to operate in shifts while protecting a person or object for extended periods.
* Stitchers are psychic surgeons trained to quickly reconstruct cells to their previous or healthy state. Using only their hands, they can heal and even "unheal" whatever they have done. For more detailed work, Stitches use a silver based cream on their hands which acts as a conductor to their ability.

The film industry had a record year in 2008, bringing in an estimated $9.8 billion at
the North American box office. It will be a tough act to follow, but 2009 promises to deliver as many -- if not more -- big movies. There are two big movies that were supposed to come out this past holiday season: the latest "Harry Potter" and the new take on "Star Trek." A wide variety of animated films are coming, from the latest in 3D digital technology to Disney's return to traditional animation. And, of course, there will be sequels (and prequels) galore. Here is a list of 30 of the most anticipated of this year, in order of release date.
3/6 - Watchmen
Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Patrick Wilson and Carla Gugino star in this adaptation of the famed graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.

THE SPIRIT
In Central City, rookie cop Denny Colt returns from the dead as the detective known only as the Spirit to fight crime. After he finds his nemesis, the Octopus at the Central City mud flats, the femme fatale Sand Saref discovers two chests in a nearby pond. She tries to flee with both chests, but the Octopus shoots at her, snapping the line that connects the two chests together. After a fight with the Spirit, Octopus takes the remaining chest that Saref left behind and escapes with one of his thugs.
The Octopus wants the mystical Blood of Heracles in order to become immortal and Sand Saref wants the treasure of the Argonauts, but both people end up with the wrong chest, Sand with the blood and the Octopus with the treasure of the Argonauts.
The Spirit is involved in a love triangle with Sand Saref, who is actually Colt's childhood sweetheart until she'd left the city after her police officer father was shot and killed, and surgeon Ellen Dolan, Commissioner Dolan's daughter.

When Mo (Brendan Fraser) reads aloud from books, he has the ability to make the characters come out of the book, into real life. Mo discovered his power when his daughter Meggie (Eliza Bennett), was just a baby. Mo read aloud from the book Inkheart, which caused several of the book's wicked characters, including Capricorn (Andy Serkis), to literally come to life. But while he read them out of the book, he accidentally read Meggie’s mother, Teresa (Sienna Guillory) into the story.
Meggie is 12 years old, but knows nothing of her father's bizarre and powerful talent. But Meggie is annoyed that Mo still refuses to read to her. Capricorn, a man who burns for pleasure and being so evil that he would "feed a bird to a cat on purpose, just to watch it being torn apart", has searched for Meggie's father for years, seeking to twist Mo's powerful talent to his own dark means. Finally, Capricorn realizes that the best way to lure Mo to his remote mountain hideaway is to use his beloved daughter Meggie as bait. While Meggie discovers Capricorn's ruthless plan, she too, can pluck people from pages and bring them to life, but it takes a while for her to realize her power.
THE SPIRIT
In Central City, rookie cop Denny Colt returns from the dead as the detective known only as the Spirit to fight crime. After he finds his nemesis, the Octopus at the Central City mud flats, the femme fatale Sand Saref discovers two chests in a nearby pond. She tries to flee with both chests, but the Octopus shoots at her, snapping the line that connects the two chests together. After a fight with the Spirit, Octopus takes the remaining chest that Saref left behind and escapes with one of his thugs.
The Octopus wants the mystical Blood of Heracles in order to become immortal and Sand Saref wants the treasure of the Argonauts, but both people end up with the wrong chest, Sand with the blood and the Octopus with the treasure of the Argonauts.
The Spirit is involved in a love triangle with Sand Saref, who is actually Colt's childhood sweetheart until she'd left the city after her police officer father was shot and killed, and surgeon Ellen Dolan, Commissioner Dolan's daughter.
